Bill to ensure access to telehealth signed by Governor.

I’m honored to have sponsored House Bill 3308 to ensure telehealth services will continue. The past year has shown us how important and effective access to telehealth services are for our families, and this legislation is an example that when we work together in a respectful way that brings all parties to the table, we can produce good legislation. I look forward to working on more bipartisan legislation like this that moves our state forward.  Read More Here.

Upcoming Kids’ Health & Safety Fair.

Save-the-date and please join me and Illinois Senate Republican Leader Dan McConchie for our first annual Kids’ Health and Safety Fair in partnership with the Foglia YMCA on Saturday, September 11. The free fair to be held at Foglia YMCA in Lake Zurich will feature live demos and a touch-a-truck exhibit, among several other family-friendly activities, as well as opening with an Honor Guard memorial ceremony performed by the Lake Zurich Fire Department in memory of the 20th anniversary of 9/11.  Read More Here.

Petition: stop unilateral executive mandates.

Last week, Governor Pritzker issued another unilateral statewide mask mandate for PreK-12 students after previously saying the decision should be left up to local school boards. As I’ve said before, we cannot continue to run our state by executive decree. Superseding local decisions, students, parents and blocking out the co-equal legislative branch from the decision-making process is the essence of anti-democratic action. While I believe precaution is still necessary to end the threat of COVID-19, we cannot continue to abandon the principles of elected government any longer. If you believe Governor Pritzker needs to stop subverting our democratic principles, click here to sign the petition.

Recognizing local state champ.

I’ve known Jake Myers and his family since he was young. It was my honor to present Jake with a Certificate of Recognition from the Illinois House to congratulate him for his impressive 1,600-meter state title victory! I know the whole LZHS community shares in congratulating Jake on his state title and are so proud of his accomplishment!

Good luck, Jake, as you continue onto the University of Illinois and we wish you more success!  Read More Here.
